North Balwyn Bowls Club - Your friendly sports and activities hub

With approximately 400 members, our club provides a friendly gathering place for the following activities:

  • Bowls - Outdoor and Indoor comps both in a Pennant and Social format.  We have Beginners sessions for you try the sport and receive coaching
  • Bridge - Supervised play and competitive Duplicate sessions.  Beginners lessons twice a year
  • Pickleball - Tuesday & Wednesday evenings 7-9pm, Friday mornings 9.30-11am
  • Craft - Craft meets on the 2nd Monday of the month
  • Mahjong - Mahjong meets on the 2nd & 4th Fridays of the month
  • Library - Our members have created a free library of games, puzzles and books
  • Social Activities - We celebrate occasions such as Grand final day, Cup Day, President’s Day and Christmas for all members, with meals and drinks
  • Garden Plots - Grow your own vegetables and share the products of your labour, we have sunny garden plots available for hire

Supporting the 2026 Boroondara Seniors Festival We invite you to drop into our Club every Friday afternoon between 3.00pm & 5.00pm during the month of October (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th) to try bowls. Never tried bowls, come along, bring your family & friends, it's a fun activity for all ages. Coaching and Bowls provided. Please wear flat shoes. For your free ticket please register. Competitive Duplicate session & Back to Basics session. B2B is an opportunity for newer players to practice their newly learned skills at the table in a supportive and educational environment. Players can ask questions about bidding and card play. Discussions can be for the table or just for you. You might even like to play a hand in one contract, and then re-play it in another contract to see how it plays out. We provide experienced mentors. You do not need a partner. We build tables of 4 as people arrive. Please purchase your tickets, save your email with attached tickets and show them at the door on arrival.

Life Members Day to celebrate all of our life members and thank them for their contribution to the club. Chicken and salad at $10 a head including a beverage.  There is no need to bring the ticket issued to you.  We will have a list of those who have booked.
